Natural wool products often have pilling, sometimes more noticeable than others. Pilling is quite normal and can be used as "evidence" that an item is truly made of natural wool. Piling is the result of friction, either on the woolen item itself or on other items of clothing. It will act like sandpaper and cause pilling if the other object has a structured surface. There is no way to totally avoid pilling. However, there is a technique to reduce it: A woolen item that is too dry is more prone to pill than one that is adequately damp. Wool dries out really rapidly. As a result, we advise giving your wool items a moisturizing "shower". For instance, on a foggy day, hang the wool garment outside. Or hang it in the bathroom when the room is still quite steamy from a hot shower. It should just take a few hours. Can I remove pilling? Yes, with a little practice, it is possible to remove pills effectively using just a shaving razor. Place the affected item on the table in front of you. To make the work area as flat as possible, try stretching the garment a little. Simply scrape the surface with a shaving blade while being cautious. Please take care of the seams to prevent damage to the product. Gradually work the surface. This process also has an additional benefit.
